Barack Obama Decision of the Congress is contrary to the official
position of the United States that recognizes the territorial integrity
of Azerbaijan.

Benelux Azerbaijanis congress functioning in Holland, voiced a firm
protest against allocation of $8m to the separatist regime in Nagorno
Karabakh by the US Congress.

The statement says that the decision of the Congress is contrary
to the official position of the United States that recognizes the
territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The letter voices serious concern
that in period of the deepening of the economic crisis and the rapid
growth in unemployment rates, the US Congressmen allocate financial
assistance to the regime that held an ethnic cleansing and forced
over a million of Azerbaijanis to flee their homes.

The Council considers that the decision of the US Congress causes
damage to the country’s positions in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus
and undermines the process of the peace settlement of the Karabakh
conflict. The statement reads that along with it, the US legislative
body also adopted a decision to preserve parity between Azerbaijan
and Armenia in terms of military assistance though it contradicts to
the external political course of the country. The congress reminds
that after September 11 events Azerbaijan has been one of the most
reliable US allies providing support to peacekeeping operations held
in different corners of the world.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
