/PanARMENIAN.Net/ During the Government’s Thursday session, Minister
of Finance Tigran Davtyan submitted Controls Committee’s 2008 reports
concerning the activity of commercial organizations having no less
than 50% state participation.

It took the Government 1.5 year to clarify the number of commercial
companies with state participation and the state’s functions within
their structure, Minister said, commenting upon Premier Tigran
Sargsyan’s report. "Almost all of the companies turned out to have
shortcomings. Ministers should feel responsible to exercise personal
control over them as subordinate bodies," Prime Minister added.

At that, he promised to take relevant measures to enhance the
effectiveness of above mentioned organizations’ work by the end of
2010 and establish monitoring over companies that will be privatized
in that period.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
