TURKEY’S CURRENT BORDERS RECOGNITION IS A WRONG STEP

To recognize Turkey’s current borders is a wrong step if Artsakh’s
actual – de facto – independence is not recognized, shared his view
at today’s press-conference Nagorno-Karabakh’s former Defense Minister
Samvel Babayan.

"If we are trying to convert Turkey’s de facto into de iure, so
Azerbaijan in the same manner has to recognize Artsakh’s territories."

If Armenia’s Foreign Ministry denies pressure outside then it
can either negotiatie with Azerbaijan for Artsakh’s sovereignty
recognition, thinks Mr. Babayan.

"I wonder whether they can do this. I doubt," says former minister
adding that the implementation of protocols’ provisions is complicated
as it’s expected assigments from Armenia related to issue of Karabakh.

"We will definitly not provide such an opportunity. I welcome dialogue
with Turkey beyond issue of Karabakh."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
