ArmInfo. Today Armenia’s leading mobile operator VivaCell-MTS hosted
15 schoolchildren of 11th grade of one of Yerevan schools. The event
was held at VivaCell-MTS headquarters, the Company press service
told ArmInfo.

The open door event began by a small presentation of Company’s latest
achievements. The presentation was conducted by VivaCell-MTS General
Manager Ralph Yirikian who then introduced the schoolchildren to
Company’s major centers of operation – Service Center, where they were
introduced to the innovative queuing system, and Call Center. The next
site was Core Unit with its Switch Section – the center of network
management. An important topic of presentation was the use of mobile
phones and dos and don’ts in public places.

Ralph Yirikian introduced the ethics of using mobile phones in public
places, including public transportation, while driving, at office,
in educational institutions, libraries, theaters and movies, etc.

Schoolchildren were also taught about how mobile communication was
developed. VivaCell-MTS General Manager taught the children about how
mobile communication is set up, how the signal is transmitted and how
connection is made between subscribers. "We attach high value to the
organization of mobile literacy classes, as we witness the interest
and excitement of children with telecommunications technology. As a
mobile operator company and corporate citizen we feel responsibility
for teaching children in ethical aspects of using mobile phones in
public places, and which is the most important, using cell phones
while driving. This is not just to inform.

We aim at creating awareness with the behavior change as the outcome,"
stated VivaCell-MTS General Manager.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
