The "Journalists without Borders-Austria" organization has granted
awards to Armenian, Georgian and Azerbaijani journalists and one of the
journalists was Armenian journalist Mariana Grigoryan who received the
"Signal for Europe" award for freedom of speech.

Mariana received the award for a number of political analyses related
to the internal political state and freedom of press in Armenia. This
is the 14th award.

This year the "Journalists without Borders" organization has granted
Freedom of Press awards to two Azerbaijani journalists deprived of
liberty, including Eynula Fatullayev and Ganimat Zahidov. The Georgian
"Batumelebi" weekly was also awarded.

Jury member Albert Rohan mentioned that this year the winners were
chosen based on three standards, including quality of articles,

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
