Great Russian actor Valentin Gaft to arrive in Armenia

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On October 26, Yerevan Stanislavsly Dram Theatre
will host the creative night of RSFR People’s Artist Valentine Gaft.

Valentine Gaft was born on September 2, 1935 in Moscow. In 1957 he
left Moscow Academic Art Theatre (Vasily Toporkov’s school). Since
1969, he has worked in Sovremennik theatre. Gaft’s performances are
characterized by intellectual wittiness and irony often amounting to
sarcasm. In addition to performances, Gaft has also acted in feature
films which brought him fame. The actor was shot in `Garage’ (1979),
`Barons of Crime’ (1988), `Encore, Encore!’ (1992), `Promised Heaven’
(1991) and several TV films such as `Tanya’ (1974), `Day Train’ (1976)
etc. In 2002, Gaft in `Old Hags’ (Eldar Ryazanov) and «Behind the
Wolves».

Gaft is also the author of books «Poem and Epigram», «Poems,
Memories, Epigrams» and «Shadows on Water».
