After the accident in the chloroprene section of Nairit chemical plant,
the production process will restart in two weeks. NT correspondent was
informed by Nairit’s Chief Engineer Hovhannes Hakhinian that repairs
and preparations to relaunch the plant are under way, with about 250
thousand USD being spent on this work.

In his words, the internal resources have been mainly used to
reconstruct the plant because it would take long to relaunch it with
outside resources.

In addition, it is envisaged retraining Nairit’s staff.

It was mentioned that during the idle period, the plant has not lost
its markets as it had products in store. "We have not suffered losses
due to the global economic crisis as the international market of rubber
has also fallen into decline," H. Hakhinian noted. At the same time
he pointed out that the Armenian-Chinese rubber enterprise currently
under construction in China will not become an obstacle to the export
of Nairit’s products. It is another matter, if it takes certain steps
to enter international market, including Russian market. According
to H. Hakhinian, in this case they will try to solve the problems
"in favor of Nairit".

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
