MINISTER’S RARE REALISM

During the news conference on August 28 the minister of finance Tigran
Davtyan refused to comment on the rumors about his resignation.

Tigran Davtyan was absolutely realistic. How can one comment on the
prospect of something which you cannot influence at all.

In other words, Tigran Davtyan does not know when he will
resign. Perhaps it depends on when he will be told from someone
overhead in government to resign. Or he will be dismissed, and he
will learn about his resignation from the evening news or morning
newspapers. After all, there have been such cases in Armenia.

In other words, Tigran Davtyan does not have enough power and
importance to decide the time of his resignation. He is told to
work, and he works, if he is told to resign, he will resign. And he
cannot refuse to work because the nature of the Armenian government
is such. Since the system is based on unwritten laws rather than the
Constitution and the legislation, once you join the game, you cannot
resign voluntarily, exercising your right to resign.

By the way, it was Tigran Davtyan who advised to judge about the
economic state of Armenia by the cafes and parking areas which are
overcrowded in the evening. It should be mentioned that Tigran Davtyan
had wished to resign a few months ago together with the other ministers
of the finance and economic sphere.
