CSTO EXERCISES MAY TAKE PLACE IN ARMENIA IN 2010

Joint military exercises by the Collective Security Treaty Organization
(CSTO) may take place in Armenia in 2010, SCTO Secretary General
Nicolay Bordyuzha said.
"I think we will hold exercises in Armenia next year if Armenia
expresses its intention to do so," he said.
He also said the Kazakhstan’s president Nursultan Nazarbayev invited
leaders of the CSTO member states who signed the agreement on launching
collective rapid reaction forces to monitor the first exercise of
these forces. They will be held on the territory of the republic
in mid-October.
CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
