ARMENIAN PREMIER: SHADOW ECONOMY CREATES SERIOUS OBSTACLE ON THE WAY OF ARMENIA’S DEVELOPMENT

ArmInfo. The shadow economy and market oligopolies create serious
obstacle on the way of Armenia’s development, Armenian Prime Minister
Tigran Sarkisyan said today at the three-day forum dedicated to affect
of the economic crisis on Armenia.
‘Oligopolies or high concentration of the dominating subjects at the
markets create certain discomfort when forming prices. For this reason
we need conducting of stronger anti-monopolistic policy. As for the
shadow economy, here we should raise the level of the tax and customs
administration. The problem is much more serious that at first sight’,
– the premier said. He also mentioned importance of transparency when
making governmental reforms.
