ArmInfo. Representatives of the Group on Facts Gathering, put
forward by the political forces, unfortunately could not act like
independent experts. Absence of this factor makes existence of the
Group disputable. In its turn, this led to failure of the Group
activity, Armenian President Serzh argsyan’s press-secretary Samvel
Farmanyan told Radio Liberty.

COORDINATOR OF ARMENIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS: PSYCHOLOGY OF ‘A KINGPIN’ HAS BEEN FORMED AMONG ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES

ArmInfo. The psychology of "a kingpin" has been formed among Armenian
authorities, Coordinator of the oppositional Armenian National Congress
(ANC) Levon Zurabyan said at today’s press- conference.

"We have stated for several times that we can settle on a compromise
and start a dialogue with the authorities if they release the political
prisoners and hold normal elections. But they didn’t carry out a
single condition, so even if amnesty is announced, our position will be
unchanged and we have nothing to talk about with them",- Zurabyan said.

According to him, the authorities do not even know what compromise is,
as to make a concession means for them to display weakness. Zurabyan
said the authorities are unaware of the dialogue conception and it
is senseless and naive of the ANC to expect any steps forwards.

To recall, at the latest rally of the opposition on June 1 Levon
Ter-Petrosyan stated that having held such elections, the authorities
burnt all the possible bridges of dialogue and consolidation of the
nation. He also stressed that ANC will conduct no dialogue with the
authorities under the conditions.

ArmInfo. Iran will fully finance Tebriz-Eraskh oil pipeline at $250
mln with a condition that Armenia will later repay its participation,
Armenian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan told
journalists Wednesday.

He also added that such an arrangement has been recently made as
at present Armenia suffers financial problems and cannot pay its
share in the project, in which both countries are taking part on a
parity basis. The minister said that in the near future the working
group of Iranian specialists will arrive in Yerevan to discuss final
option of the technical and economic assessment of the project. ‘We
are doing everything possible to build the oil pipeline this year’,
– the minister said.

ArmInfo. Vallex Group official representative Vahram Avagyan denies
existence of animals and plants included in Red Book in area of
Tekhut copper and molybdenum deposit. V. Avagyan made such statement
on Wednesday at a meeting with local media, which seems a little
strange since earlier the company-developer of the deposit, ACP,
recognized the fact of existence of rare types of flora and fauna in
Tekhut. In addition, there are ancient archaeological monuments in
the area of Tekhut.

V. Avagyan said felling in Tekhut will take 10 ha yearly, which will
not affect the habitat of animals. At present felling has embraced 21
ha of the planned 357 ha of the forest. To compensate the felling,
Vallex takes measures on plantation of trees including in the area
of Tekhut and Shnokh communities. Tree plantation has occupied only
4,000 sq.m area so far. V. Avagyan also refuted the accusations by
ecologists for violation of the Armenian legislation, Constitution
and some ratified international agreements. These violations have
become the reason of ecologists filing to

open in Novocherkask (Rostov Region), Russia. Construction work began
in 2000, Vice President of "Ani" Armenian centre said. "Construction
was mostly funded by Head of Armenian community Ara Arsenyan and
other influential community representatives. Despite economic crisis,
we hope construction work will finish in 2010," Ms. Mirzoyan noted,
adding that on May 28 "Ani" cultural House had organized ceremony
dedicated to First Republic Day.

Armenian community of Novocherkask has a history of 14 years. The
town currently has a cultural centre and a Sunday school. "One of

on the history and culture of their homeland," Vice President said.

PAN PLAN Intends To Implement Transport-Safety Programs In Armenia

PAN PLAN INTENDS TO IMPLEMENT TRANSPORT-SAFETY PROGRAMS IN ARMENIA

03.06.2009 17:22 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ For over a decade, Mr. Rainer Stepan of the City
Administration of Vienna has been eagerly and constantly pursuing
tireless efforts and targeted lobbying for the intensification of
development and business cooperation venues between Austria and
Armenia. Accordingly, besides involving several Austrian consulting
groups and companies, a number of projects were also launched during
these past ten years.

One such recent successful initiative was the carrying out of a basic
study by the Austrian PAN PLAN regarding transport-safety in Armenia,
as assigned by AustriaTech, a company specialised in transport issues,
telematics and know-how transfer.

Together with a team of local Armenian experts, this special report
was finalised and satisfyingly presented in early May 2009.

Based on the results of the assessed options and needs, AustriaTech
decided spontaneously to continue its efforts with a cooperation
offer to the responsible authorities in Armenia.

Therefore, a working group will visit Armenia at the end of June 2009
to define further steps for a sustainable programme towards the steady
increase of transport-safety in Armenia.

As a result of a number of successfully undertaken past Austrian
initiatives in Armenia, the Austrian Control Bank (Oesterreichische
Kontrollbank) has now declared their preparedness to give Armenia
such a ranking status, which would enable the Austrian partners to
launch soft loaned, non-commercial projects in Armenia. This could be
a pioneer initiative by a foreign international financing institution
for Armenia.

Taking into account the fact that the field of "Renewable Energy
and Energy Efficiency" represents one of the major focused areas of
the Armenian Government, it is certainly a sound and instrumental
consideration to provide this opportunity to a relevant Armenian
institution.

VIC DARCHINYAN: I WANT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME IN THE HISTORY OF BOXING

/PanARMENIAN.Net/
03.06.2009 17:45 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Undisputed super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan
is looking to make boxing history by continuing to move up in
weight and win titles. He became the first man to unify the super
flyweight division and now he wants to win all of the titles at
bantamweight. His first test will come on July 11 against IBF puncher
Joseph Agbeko. After Agbeko, he wants more titles, whether it be at
bantamweight or at a higher weight.

"Maybe I will stay for a year at bantamweight and unify the titles,
but I want to move up and to win more world championships at different
weights," Darchinyan said to the AAP. "I want to go down in the history
of boxing. I want people to remember me, not only at the time while I’m
boxing, but after I retire, I want to be one of the best of all time."

Darchinyan knows that some people are actually predicting that Agbeko
will knock him out. Some are not convinced that Darchinyan will bring
his power up to bantamweight. Not only does Darchinyan proclaim that
his power will be there, he plans to be deadly with both hands.

"People are talking because I am moving up to bantamweight that
my power isn’t going to be enough, but that’s why I want to go to
America and be more focused on my training and show the world my
power is more than enough for bantamweight," Darchinyan said.

"Everyone knows I’ve got a lot of power in my left, now with all my
sparring I’m more focused on my right and I can feel my right hand
is very powerful now too and my sparring partners are saying that I
am punching harder with my right."

Darchinyan is taking no chances. He is leaving for the United States
ten days early.

"My preparation has been very good, I feel like I’m at the top and
ready, but there’s still five and a half weeks to go," Darchinyan
said. "I am going to take it a little bit easy and not push too much,
I don’t want to be over-trained. I’ve never spent so long in America. I
normally go one month before, but I want to focus on my fight."

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenians Genocide will continue unless Turkey
recognizes the crime. Orhan Pamuk was deported from his country because
he spoke about the great atrocity. Being descendents of Genocide
victims, millions of Armenians are directly related to them. Before
elections to Euro-parliament, the tragedy was recognized as principal
issue on which Swedish youth movement will work, meber of the Swedish
palament Frederic Malm told a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent. "I was
the only council member who voted for genocide recognition in 2008,"
he stressed, adding that their organization also focused on fair
settlement of Karabakh conflict.
