BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT INDEX GROWS BY 12 PER CENT OVER SECOND QUARTER

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Business Environment Index in Armenia has grown by
12 per cent over the second quarter of 2009 compared with the first
quarter and declined to 37.6. Consumer trust index has reduced by 4.2
per cent over the second quarter of 2009 reaching 43.2. The business
Environment and consumer trust indexes have reduced by 23.5 and 12.3
per cent respectively compared with the same period of 2009.
As the Central Bank of Armenia reports, over the second quarter of
2009 economic activity index reached 56.9 per cent, which is 18 per
cent higher than during the first quarter. The economic activity index
has reduced by 28.2 per cent as compared with the same period of the
last year.
819 enterprises in industrial production, construction and services
and 1804 households participated in the Central Bank’s survey from
the capital and all regions of the country.
