General pardon is the best way out from the situation around , Council
of Europe Commissioner of Human Rights Thomas Hammerberg told deputy of
the Armenian parliament from the ‘Heritage’ faction Zaruyi Postanjan,
as she said.

To note, it was for the first time that Postanjan was participating
in the PACE April session.

She also added that Hammerberg told her he is sure there is no serious
evidence on the ‘case of seven’. ‘The Commissioner thinks that the
most important for us is to be able to turn over this tragic page
of our history, and declaring of pardon is the most exact option’, –
Postanjan said and added though PACE says there is certain progress
in legislation of our country, general pardon would resolve existing
problems.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
