Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not changed their positions on the
Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, said Foreign Minister of the unrecognized
Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh Georgy Petrosyan.

"I haven’t heard about any changes in Armenia’s position on the
Azeri-Karabakh conflict," Petrosyan said in Stepanakert, commenting
on the recent statements by Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov
about "some nuances" in the new Armenian leadership’s position.

"My Armenian counterpart has told me that Armenia’s position on
Nagorno-Karabakh remains unchanged and so does Nagorno-Karabakh’s
position on a possible agreement," he said.

"No document on the settlement of the conflict with Azerbaijan can
be signed, let alone implemented, without the consent of the people
of Nagorno-Karabakh," Petrosyan said.

As for Mammadyarov’s statement that the peaceful settlement of the
conflict could be conceived as a compromise on the part of Azerbaijan,
he said that Azerbaijan’s position was "poorly concealed political
and diplomatic blackmail by the mediators and Armenia."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
