ARKA
June 13, 2008

YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. Armenian Agricultural Ministry is assessing
the hail-caused damage which Armenian farmers have suffered recently,
Armenian Agriculture Minister Aramayis Grigoryan has said. The minister
said 20-22 villages in the region of Ararat have suffered most from
the hail.

The government has set up a task force from the representatives of
the ministries of territorial administration and agriculture, as well
as the regional administration of Ararat, to specify the size of the
damage and submit a package of proposals to the government.

However, Grigoryan said, the damage is not too big to tell upon the
harvest since only several communities have been affected.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
