RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan issued an address to the
participants of the 8th forum of the Union of Veterans of War, Labor
and Law-Enforcement Bodies of the Republic of Armenia. The message
states, in part:

"On behalf of the Governemnt of the Republic of Armenia, I greet
the participants of the 8th forum of the Union of Veterans of War,
Labor and Law-Enforcement Bodies. We are informed that for over two
decades your organization has been launching an active and productive
activity all over the Republic of Armenia, presents the interests
and concerns of the veterans.

You are doing an important and thankful work in bringing up the young
generation and support the veterans who need help and attention. This
work is especially valuable in this period of development of statehood.

We had losses and achievements during the recent years; our values
underwent certain changes, but the respect for the senior generation,
the veterans, has been paled and devalued. Many of you have defended
their Motherland with weapons or have proven their devotion to the
development and prosperity of Armenia with their work. We cannot
forget it.

With your presence you remind our glorious past, make us think not
only about the present but also the future victories. Offering our
words of gratitude, today we stress that our support and appreciation
are not expressed only with words.

During its activity the Government will keep the issues of veterans
in the focus of attention. You are familiar with these issues best
of all. There are problems that we must solve together. We are ready
for cooperation and joint work.

Dear veterans, once again I greet the participants the forum, wish
productive activity, as well as wealth, longevity and all the best."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
