PRELATE TO CELEBRATE EASTER DIVINE LITURGY
AT ST. MARY’S CHURCH IN GLENDALE

On Easter Sunday, March 23rd, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian,
Prelate, will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at St. Mary’s
Church in Glendale.
H.E. Archbishop Suren Kataroyan will celebrate Divine Liturgy and
deliver the sermon at Forty Martyrs Church in Orange County and H.E.
Archbishop Yeprem Tabakian will celebrate Easter Liturgy and deliver the
sermon at Holy Martyr Church in Encino.
Christian Education Department Directors Very Rev. Fathers Muron
Aznikian and Barthev Gulumian will conduct services at Holy Cross Cathedral
in Montebello and Holy Trinity Church in Fresno respectively.

PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER EASTER MEMORIAL DAY REQUIEM SERVICE AT FOREST LAWN

On Monday, March 24th, Easter Memorial Day requiem services will
take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, at 10:00 a.m.
The Prelate will preside over the service.
Requiem service will also take place at the Church of the
Recessional at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale conducted by clergy
members.

EASTER DIVINE LITURGY AT ARARAT HOME

On the morning of Tuesday, March 25th, the Prelate will preside over
Easter Divine Liturgy at Ararat Home in Mission Hills. Clergy members will
participate in the service.
At 10:00 a.m. clergy members will visit the nursing facility of
Ararat Home. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Muron
Aznikian at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
Morning services were offered at the Convalescent Hospital of the
Eagle Rock campus of Ararat Home on the morning of Thursday, March 13th, by
Rev. Fr. Vazken Atmajian.
CELEBRATION OF PALM SUNDAY

On Sunday, March 16th, Prelacy Churches celebrated Palm Sunday with
Divine Liturgy, the children’s procession, and the Liturgy of the Opening of
the Portals.
On this feast, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate,
celebrated Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at Holy Martyrs Church in
Encino. In his sermon the Prelate spoke of the triumphant entry of our Lord
Jesus Christ into Jerusalem and the significance of that event. In speaking
of the raising of Lazarus from the dead, the Prelate stressed that Lazarus
was a loyal friend of Jesus Christ and had become worthy of His love, urging
the faithful to remain loyal followers of Christ so that we may also be
worthy of His blessings.
The Prelate then referred to the implication behind Jesus entering
and clearing the temple, emphasizing that we must remain faithful to our
spiritual and cultural values and prepare to celebrate the upcoming Feast of
Easter with sanctity and faithfulness.
Following Divine Liturgy and the children’s procession, the services
concluded with the Prelate conducting the Liturgy of the Opening of the
Portals.

COMMEMORATION OF THE PARABLE OF THE TEN MAIDENS

On the evening of Tuesday, March 18th, Holy Tuesday services took
place in Prelacy Churches commemorating the Parable of the Ten Maidens. The
Prelate conducted services and conveyed his message on this occasion at St.
Garabed Church in Hollywood. Sunday School students from the parish
participated in the service representing the ten maidens.
The Prelate spoke of the example of the five wise maidens,
emphasizing that it is the responsibility of each faithful Christian to be
alert as they were so that we don’t fail to notice the blessings granted to
us by Almighty God. The Prelate concluded by praying for God to grant us
all wisdom of the five wise maidens so that we may also become worthy of the
Lord’s blessings.

MAUNDY THURSDAY COMMEMORATIONS

On Thursday, March 20th, Maundy Thursday services took place in
Prelacy churches beginning with Divine Liturgy in the morning, followed by
the Washing of the Feet service in the afternoon where clergy members
conducted the ceremony of the Washing of the Feet to commemorate the
humility of our Lord Jesus Christ during the Last Supper.
H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, conducted the
service at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale and delivered the sermon in which
he exhorted that all faithful Christians must follow in the example set by
Christ of humility and service. He asserted that although He was the Son of
God, He remained humble and mindful of the fact that He was sent on a
mission to redeem the sins of mankind and did not even deprive Judas, who
would later betray Him, of participating in His ministry.
In the evening, the Prelate conducted the solemn vigil service and
delivered the sermon at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino during which the
betrayal and arrest of Jesus Christ was commemorated.
ARTIST MARINA MAVIAN TO EXHIBIT HER WORKS AT THE PRELACY "DIKRAN AND
ZAROUHIE DER GHAZARIAN" HALL

The Western Prelacy Outreach Committee, under the auspices of H.E.
Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, has invited artist Marina Mavian
>From Italy to exhibit her works at the Prelacy. The exhibition will open on
Friday, March 28th, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, March
29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The artist is inspired by her faith in her paintings which consist
primarily of religious subjects, particularly Armenian Churches of the fifth
and sixth centuries as well as saints and crosses. For more information on
