YEREVAN, MARCH 14, NOYAN TAPAN. The simplified tax has not been
removed, no serious problems can appear in this sphere. This statement
was made by Serge Sargsian, the Prime Minister and newly-elected
President of the Republic of Armenia, in response to the questions
of citizens addressed to him through internet.

Sargsian stated that the recent amendments of the tax legislation were
directed at bringing the small and medium-sized business to the tax
field and do not do harm to the small and medium-sized business. He
also stated that he will have a meeting with the representatives of
the medium-sized business during the coming 2-3 days and will explain
what amendments have been made in detail.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
