6.6% inflation recorded in Armenia ID Dec 2007

YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. 6.6% inflation was recorded in Armenia
in January-December 2007 against the corresponding period in 2006.
Consumer prices went up by 1.5% thanks to the increase of food
prices.

Particularly, food prices (including alcohol drinks and tobacco)
increased by 2.5%, while non-food prices increased by 0.8%, while
tariffs charges for services decreased by 0.1%.

The average monthly inflation of consumer market totaled 0.5% in 2007
– 0.1pct increase as compared to the corresponding period in 2006
(0.4%). In January-December 2007 inflation totaled 4.4% with 106.7%
inflation of food prices. Non-food prices decreased by 0.5%, while
charges for services increased by 4.2%.

1.1%-1.8% inflation was recorded in all the 11surveyed cities in
December 2007, the highest inflation being recorded in Vanadzor and
Yeghegnadzor. 1.5% inflation was recorded in Yerevan in
January-December 2007. 4% (±1,5%) inflation is expected in Armenia in
