FIVE SPECIES OF ANIMALS TO BE BROUGHT TO ARMENIA FROM NOVOSIBIRSK ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN BY END OF YEAR

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. 80% of winter preparatory work has
been already done at Yerevan Zoological Garden. Cages intended for
heat-loving animals are ready, feed to the necessary amount, nearly
120 tons of hay and 16 tons of meat, has been purchased. As Noyan
Tapan correspondent was informed by Sahak Abovian, the Zoo Director,
nearly 90% of nearly 177m drams (more than 533 thousand USD) envisaged
by the state budget for animals’ feed has been already received.

S. Abovian also said that it is envisaged to bring five species of
animals, black and red wolves, mongoose, goats, cats to Armenia from
Novosibirsk by the end of the year. At present there are nearly 2300
animals in the garden.
