Anti-Defamation League Fires Official In Armenian Dispute
by Staff

The U.S. Anti-Defamation League has dismissed a regional director for
arguing publicly that the ADL should recognize the Armenian
"genocide."

Andrew Tarsy has been head of the ADL’s New England operations for
two years and was civil rights counsel for the previous five.

He told The Boston Globe he was fired after a telephone conversation
with Abraham Foxman, the national director, in which he said the
ADL’s refusal to call the Turkish massacre of Armenians 90 years ago
a genocide is "morally indefensible."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
