YEREVAN, JULY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA NA Speaker, Tigran Torosian, at
the July 13 press conference, said that he considers the start of the
newly elected parliament’s activity as normal. He added that the only
qualitative difference compared with the NA of previous convocation is
that one party, the RPA, has received the half of the parliamentary
mandates as a result of the elections. In T. Torosian’s words,
to expect another thing regarding the NA activities in the respect
of qualitative changes is not right, because, as the speaker said,
no revolution has been done in Armenia, and the political forces are
in the process of their normal development. In his words, in case of
evaluating the results of the parliamentary elections some surprises
can be registered "especially in connection with the opposition
political forces’ passing to the parliament, which, however, cannot
be considered as a qualitative difference."
