SAFETY OF "ZVARTNOTS" INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, ARMENIA, TO BE MONITORED BY MITRE

The delegation of MITRE research center, USA, arrived in Armenia
by the invitation of Eduardo Ernekian, holder of the "Zvartnots"
International Airport.

During 50 years of activity MITRE has made a number of prominent
innovations in the sphere of monitoring of air communications
safety. MITRE is the independent research center of the US Federal
Department of Aviation. The delegation of MITRE, led by International
Affairs Director dr. Bernard Liesker, is to get acquainted with the
security systems of "Zvartnots" and make its recommendations.

On a press conference at the State Engineering University dr. Liesker
said that no defects have been detected at "Zvartnots" during two
days of work. The final results will be known in a few days.

The members of MITRE delegation held a lection at the university for
the students of the aviation engineering department. One of the 7
delegation members is an Armenian, Armen Gomtsian, who was translating
the whole lecture for the students.
