YEREVAN, JUNE 14, NOYAN TAPAN. Renowned American conductor Alexander
Treger will conduct the concert of Serenade chamber orchestra to be
held on June 15 and concert of Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra
on June 22 at Aram Khachatrian concert hall. French Armenian pianist
Vahan Martirosian and violinist Anush Nikoghosian will take part in
the concerts.

"For four consecutive years I have been coming to Armenia and giving
concerts for Armenian audiences. Each concert in Armenia is a great
holiday for me, as the Philharmonic Orchestra is not inferior to the
best orchestras of the world and distinguishes itself by its exclusive
melodiousness. I get great pleasure working with the Philharmonic
Orchestra," A. Treger reported at the June 14 press conference.

Currently the conductor heads the American Youth Symphony orchestra,
as well as cooperates with the best orchestras in the world.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
