YEREVAN, APRIL 5, NOYAN TAPAN. Such candidates for deputies, in the
case of who the circumstance of constantly living in Armenia during the
last 5 years is seriously disputable, were registered in the electoral
lists of different parties at the RA Central Electoral Commission
(CEC) April 4 sitting. This is said in the information of the same
day of the "Nor Zhamanakner" (New Times) party information service.

It is mentioned that illogical extremes, precedents of which were
fixed during the recent years, exist in the CEC way of acting. "In one
case, in 1998, then in 2003, Robert Kocharian’s anti-constitutional
and illegal registration as the RA President was certified, on the
other hand, the registration of Aram Karapetian, who, by the way,
registered and participated in the president’s elections taken place in
the same year, was recognized invalid on the threshold of the 2003 NA
elections. It is obvious that within the framework of the authorities’
order, the CEC is guided not by the RA Electoral Code or other legal
acts, but by only political motives what is inadmissible," is said
in the information of the "Nor Zhamanakner" party.
