NKR: Meeting of Martuni Regional Administration

On January 27 the meeting of the regional administration of Martuni
took place. It was reported that in 2006 103 million 57 thousand drams
was allocated for the social problems of migrants and refugees. Four
houses were built in the village of Vazgenashen, three houses, as well
as the building of the municipality in Jivani. In the town of Martuni
two houses were built for refugees, 16 houses were repaired in
Kajavan, 2 houses are being built in Taghavard.

In the villages of Jivani and Mesmna the water supply system was
improved. About 388 million drams was allocated for the repair of the
Karmir Shuka-Sos-Chartar road, roadworks continue, and the tarmac will
be ready in 2007. 45 million 64 thousand drams was provided for
building houses for four large families. The schools of Mesmna,
Kavahan, Paravatumb, Kert and Sargsashen were repaired with support
from benefactors. In 2006 148 million 28 thousand drams was provided
for gasifying the villages of the region. The head of the regional
administration R. Azarian said last year 1 billion 137 million 8
thousand drams was spent on building, which was up by 379 million
compared with 2005. The NKR minister of education Kamo Atayan, who was
also present in the meeting, said the greatest achievement of 2006 is
the strategy worked out in the first conference of the workers of
education, culture and sport in April. The minister also touched upon
the educational reform.
