ARONIAN’S NEW ACHIEVEMENT

The match between Levon Aronian and Peter Svidler to decide the world
champion in Chess960 (Fischer Random) came to its end in Hilton Hotel
in Mainz, Germany.

Levon Aronian took this honorable title from Peter Svidler of Russia
defeating him with the score 5:3.

Opening the match with two victories, Aronian succumbed the other day
allowing the Russian to equalize. In the game five playing black pieces
Aronian suffered another defeat thus giving Svidler the lead. But in
the last three games of the match Aronian overcame his rival making
the score 5:3.

Next year Levon Aronian will defend his title in a match against
Frenchman Etienne Bacrot.

In the Random Chess tournament held simultaneously in Mainz Vishvanatan
Anand of India overcame Azerbaijani Teimur Radjabov with the score 5:3.
