The recurrent meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan
finished in Bucharest. On June 4 the presidents met and talked for
over 4 hours, while on June 5 their meeting lasted for 40 minutes. No
details of the meeting are reported. It is possible that there were
no details at all. After the meeting Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan
Oskanyan merely stated June 5 that no progress was reported, and
the foreign ministers were instructed to look for new approaches
to reach agreement. After finding one the presidents will meet
again. And Stephan Mann told that the OSCE Co-Chairs will meet to
discuss the outcome of the meeting of the presidents and decide on
further activities.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
