TURKEY’S MILITARY INVOLVEMENT IN SYRIA TO RISK ARMENIAN COMMUNITY

Director of Oriental Studies Institute Ruben Safrastyan says Turkey
may have intensive military involvement in Syria, which is a real
risk for local Armenian community.

“Factor of potential danger and threat from Turkey should not be
ignored,” Mr. Safrastyan said in a news conference.

If military operations launch in Iran, Turkey is likely to be engaged
in them too. This appears in the context of “commercial relations”
with the USA aimed at non-utterance of genocide word.

OSCE Minsk Group Has Not Fulfilled Key Task – Analyst

OSCE MINSK GROUP HAS NOT FULFILLED KEY TASK – ANALYST

YEREVAN. – The key role of the OSCE Minsk Group is to be ‘watershed’
prevebting resumption of hostilities, political analyst Manvel
Gumashyan said at a press conference on Thursday.

The analyst stated that expectations from the MG diametrically differ
for the conflicting parties. Armenia assesses the efforts as positive,
while Azerbaijan continuously shows dissatisfaction.

“In fact the MG has not fulfilled its key task. However, it is positive
that the mediators are hampering war resumption,” the expert stated
adding the MG expects Azerbaijan to be ready for the compromises and
only then it is possible to settle the conflict.

As for the publications and statements on EU replacing France in
the OSCE MG, Gumashyan believes it to be ‘far from reality.’ As to
Turkey’s aspiration to intensify interference in the Karabakh peace
process, Ankara’s position has become weaker. Turkey’s policy in the
region and the Arab world has failed, he added.

Turkey gets activated in generally because the remembrance day of the
Armenian Genocide nears and in this context the U.S. President Obama
delivers a speech. Thus, Turkey fears that Obama may use the term
‘genocide’ this time in his speech on the threshold of the U.S.
presidential elections.

ARMENIAN WINE, BRANDY EXPORTS HAVE RISEN

YEREVAN. – The competition in brandy- and wine-making is very stiff
both in and outside Armenia, Armenian Chamber of Commerce Executive
Director Arayik Vardanyan said, on Thursday, during a seminar on
brandy-making.

Close to 30 enterprises export Armenian brandy to 25 countries,
and 15-16 factories export Armenian wine to 20 countries.

MAP Company’s representative Garush Samvelyan noted that Armenian
wine is primarily exported to Russia,, and the Armenian companies
are able to secure some progress in this market.

Artsakh Vedi Company’s representative Ashkhen Sargsyan informed that
they produce strong alcoholic fruit beverages, which are better known
outside Armenia.

And Vayots Dzor Region’s Getnatun Company’s representative said they
wish to export wines to the European market, too, but there are issues
with the tax system.

OUR COUNTRY’S FIRST NEWSPAPER, FIRST CHURCH WERE ESTABLISHED BY ARMENIANS – SINGAPOREAN PRESIDENT

YEREVAN. – Along the lines of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s
ongoing state visit to Singapore, the latter’s most senior officials
have made numerous positive remarks concerning the Armenian people,
specifically the Singaporean-Armenian community.

As case in point, Singapore’s President Tony Tan Keng Yam noted with
delight that the Armenians had printed the first newspaper and built
the first Christian church in Singapore. In his turn, Singaporean
PM Lee Hsien Loong stated that his country’s trade relations had
developed since the 19th century especially owing to the efforts
by Armenian merchants, Armenian President’s Press Office informed
Armenian News-NEWS.am.

It is apparent that these evaluations are not exaggerated, and, even
though the Armenian community in Singapore was always very small in
number, it has left a considerable trace in Singapore’s history of
the past 100-150 years.

Within the framework of his state visit to Singapore, Armenia’s
President will get together with the Singaporean-Armenian community
on Thursday.

revue du fonds :” the Extended Fund Facility/Extended Credit Facility
arrangements. ”

2012 a ete reduite a 3,8%.
