YEREVAN, JUNE 11, ARMENPRESS: An exhibition of Indian goods will be
held in Armenia in September. Head of the department of support to
the entrepreneurship of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Masis Sargsyan told Armenpress that during the exhibition numerous
Indian companies will present bijouterie, clothes, leather goods,
accessories related to the phototherapy, foods, handworks, furniture,
shoes, kitchen equipments, etc.

According to M. Sargsyan, the organization of such an exhibition is
very important for India; it gives an opportunity to get acquainted
with the products of this state and their quality. The Indian goods
are known with their low prices. He noted that if formerly the Indian
side organized such an exhibition in Armenia once in a year, this
year it expressed wish to organize twice.

"It will be very good if in other states exhibitions of Armenian
goods were organized frequently. Last year such events were held in
Aleppo which was a great success and there were numerous positive
feedbacks. This year exhibition is also intended to be organized in
Aleppo in November," M. Sargsyan said. Organizers of the exhibition of
Indian goods are the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the
Embassy of India to Armenia. The exhibition will be open for 8 days.

ArmInfo. Foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan said after
the last meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Saint
Petersburg that the meeting was constructive, the parties move forward
and another top-level meeting is possible in the near future, Foreign
Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan said today when commenting
on Azerbaijan’s statements on absence of any progress during the
last meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents because of
‘non-constructive stance of the Armenian party’.

‘The both foreign ministers’ impressions from the meeting were
positive. It is strange that the minions of the president of Azerbaijan
disseminate the statements on absence of any progress. It seems their
right hand is unaware of the doings of the left hand, or there are
serious discrepancies in the minions of the Azerbaijani president. I
advise not to pay any attention to such statements as they are
unserious. However, a regular nature of these statements gives rise
to confidence that Azerbaijan holds negotiations for the purpose
other than achievement of specific results’, El. Nalbandyan said.

DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, TURKEY KEEPS SETTING PRECONDITIONS TO ARMENIA

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Official Ankara keeps setting direct and indirect
preconditions to Yerevan, an expert at Noravank Research Center,
turkologist Ruben Melkonyan said at today’s news conference.

"After the start of football diplomacy, Armenian-Turkish negotiations
reached a certain point. Today, Turkey is seriously concerned about
possibility of Armenian-Turkish border opening and establishment
of diplomatic relations with Armenia. A moment came when everyone
thought Turkey withdrew preconditions. Yet, these preconditions are
still on Armenian-Turkish relations agenda," the turkologist noted.

According to him, NKR conflict will remain a precondition while Turkey
acts as a big brother to Baku. "Besides NKR conflict and Armenian
Genocide recognition issues set as preconditions, Ankara demands
Armenia to recognize Kars agreement. This precondition is a priority on
Turkey’s list. Territorial issue is one of the most vulnerable ones for
Turkey. Turkey demands recognition of Kars agreement, although Turkey
itself has violated some of its provisions," Ruben Melkonayn added.

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Armenian Ministry of Energy has announced that
construction of Iran-Armenia petrol pipeline can start this year.

The 380km pipeline is expected to connect Tabriz (Iran) and Ararat
(Armenia) and to help Armenia decrease transport expenses and domestic
market prices.

The project will also allow Armenia to improve energy security and
become a transit route of oil products to Europe.

The construction estimates $250 million. At that, Iran obliged to
cover all expenses on condition Armenia will return the half later.

Cooperation between Armenia and Iran is rapidly developing. Armenia
has already received some 7 million cubic meters of gas through the
pipeline which was put into operation not long ago. Preparation for
a railway construction is underway.

An Iraqi migrant living on the North Shore has been named the 2008
New Zealand Credit Professional of the Year.

Anaheed Abo works as a credit controller for Winstone Wallboards and
has been in New Zealand with her family for 14 years.

The high-achieving Glenfield mum is Armenian by race, Iraqi by birth
and a New Zealand citizen by choice.

The award was given by the New Zealand Credit and Finance Institute
at a recent ceremony.

Mrs Abo, her architect husband and two children arrived in 1995
through the Skilled Migrant Scheme.

"After two wars and the embargo imposed by the West, it was becoming
too difficult to run a business. We left Iraq for a better future
for our children."

After arriving in New Zealand, she enrolled in a business and
communication course through Work and Income and had a basic job as
a warehouse dispatcher.

She then worked in accounts in an engineering company for three
and half years while studying part time for two accounting papers
at Unitech.

In 1999 she took up an accounts payable position at Winstone Wallboards
and in 2004 she was promoted to credit controller.

Her husband is an architect for Westfield NZ and her 20-year-old
daughter and 19-year-old son are studying at Auckland University .

"I thank God and I am a proud mum. It was a big move, to leave all
our relations and all our history behind," she says.

"I tell my children they are lucky to be here, lucky to be safe."

How To Restore Bitten Nails And Cuticles

HOW TO RESTORE BITTEN NAILS AND CUTICLES

Bitten cuticles are ugly – but Jessica Vartoughian has the remedy
(Getty Images)

When it comes to nails, I thoroughly fail the beauty editor test. At
industry gatherings (What is the collective noun for beauty writers? A
preen, perhaps – or maybe a miaow), I am painfully conscious that in
a roomful of lacquered nails and trim cuticles, I am the only person
with hands like a navvy’s.

There is a simple reason for this: I’m a nibbler. Not of nails, though,
but of something much worse: of cuticles. It is, without question,
a revolting habit. It’s also a vicious circle: the more I nibble,
the more my cuticles grow, and the more raggedy they get. If you
nibble enough, your nail bed becomes misshapen over time, so you get
ridges and bumps and all sorts of other unpleasant side effects. You
also get to the stage where you’re so embarrassed about your habit,
you avoid the one group of people who might just be able to help you –
ie, manicurists – like the plague.

And so it was that when I was invited to meet the legendary Jessica
Vartoughian, creator of the hugely successful Jessica nailcare system,
I felt rather like a person who never flosses preparing to visit the
dentist: full of dread.

Vartoughian, originally from Romania, founded her "nail clinic" in Los
Angeles in 1969. She got her big break doing Lucille Ball’s nails; Ball
recommended her to friends, and her reputation snowballed from there.

In the flesh, Vartoughian is quite a character, her spectacles perched
on the end of her nose as she surveys my fingers. She glances up at me.

"This is what my daughter-in-law does, too," she says, in a
more-in-sorrow-than-in-anger sort of a way. "But we don’t worry.

This we can fix."

For someone who made her name in the land of artifice, the Jessica
manicure is based on sternly natural principles. Cuticles are never
trimmed, just softened and pushed back. The nail is filed sensibly
round and short, the nail bed massaged and strengthened with whichever
treatment is deemed necessary. There is a rejuvenation formula for
dry nails, a restoration one for damaged nails, and so on.

Astonishingly, it takes just under an hour for her to transform
my nails.

"Some of the cuticles are infected," she says, surveying her
handiwork. "But don’t worry. You will use the Phenomen Oil [left,
£12.35; stockists, 0845 2171360] at night, to keep the cuticles
soft. In the day you will put on the Nibble No More [£13.75]. It is
made from cactus extract. It tastes disgusting, you will see. After
a while, you will stop."

And she’s right. At home, I attempt a small nibble. My mouth is f
illed with the bitterest taste. In the days that follow, I obey her
instructions: oil at night, cactus juice during the day. Amazingly,
it takes a little over a week for my cuticles to heal. My hands are
reborn. Jessica, dearest lady: I salute you.

MOSCOW’S OFFER ON DIVISION OF OSCE MISSION IN GEORGIA IS UNACCEPTABLE TO WASHINGTON

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Moscow’s offer on division of OSCE mission into two
groups: Georgian and South Ossetian, is unacceptable to Washington,
Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, Philip
Gordon told a news conference in Yerevan.

"The meaning of offer is unclear here. OSCE is a single structure
and observer’s mission division into 2 groups will be wrong," the
American diplomat emphasized.

According to Gordon, US will continue providing military support to
Georgia to promote internal stability. The support will be aimed at
strengthening military and civilian collaboration.

"The collaboration doesn’t constitute arms traffic or hostilities’
promotion. We support peaceful settlement of regional conflicts,"
the American diplomat stressed
