TURKEY ACCUSES EGYPT OF MASSACRE, EGYPT RESPONDS BY ENDORSING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DECLARATION

Game set and match.

Turkey’s Islamist leader, Prime Minister Erdogan, threw another fit
over the defeat of his fellow Islamists in Egypt, and disregarding
his own brutal assaults on the Gezi Park protesters, demanded trials
and intervention.

Erdogan also said Egypt’s leaders should stand a “fair and transparent”
trial for what he called a “massacre” that unfolded live on televisions
as police smashed two protest camps of supporters of the deposed
Islamist president.

“Anyone or any international organization that remains silent and
takes no action has the blood of those innocent children on their
hands, just like those who carried out the coup.”

Speaking of the blood of innocent children on their hands, Erdogan
is backing a murderous Islamist campaign against Syria. And there’s
also that pesky Armenian genocide in his country’s political DNA.

So Egypt apparently decided to directly retaliate by hitting Turkey’s
sore spot.

Al Bawaba News reported, from the Egyptian President Twitter account,
that President Adli Mansour asked Egypt’s UN delegate to sign on
the behalf of his Government on the Declaration of recognition of
the Armenian Genocide at the United Nations. If such diplomatic move
occurs it would be psychological equivalent of President Sadat visiting
Israel in 1977.

“While this move is a political retaliation at Prime Minister Recep
Erdogan’s aggressive stance against Egypt and in favor of the Ikhwan,”
said an observer in Egypt, “this goes beyond the simple retaliation.

It shows that the new leading team in Cairo is a group of secular,
strategic and long term planning policy makers.

For them to sign on the Armenian Genocide Declaration means that
they intend to wage an ideological war against the Islamists and
the Jihadists in the region. This is not directed against Turks,
particularly secular Turks, this is a strike against Erdogan’s
Sultanate and in general terms against the notion of a political
Caliphate as a rallying point of all Islamists in the region.”

I wouldn’t go quite that far myself. But, if true, it does remind
Turkey that there is a price to pay and that Erdogan has been too
loose in accusing other people of massacres.

ALIYEV’S VICTORY IN AZERBAIJAN’S ELECTION WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR ARMENIA – PRESIDENT SARGSIAN

Armenian President Serzh Sargsian hopes that Azerbaijan’s President
Ilham Aliyev will win the upcoming presidential election.

“Neighbors moving along the road of democracy are preferable for
Armenia and not only Armenia. Hence the conclusion – democratic
Azerbaijan is definitely preferable for us as a neighbor, especially
as a partner in talks. But if we put this circumstance aside, the
answer to the question is – it would probably be best for us, if
incumbent president Ilham Aliyev won,” Sargsian said at a meeting
with participants in Baze youth convention.

Yerevan and Baku “have covered a difficult but long road of
negotiations and the way of resolving problems has almost been
outlined, at the least the public acceptance of the principles proposed
by Minsk Group cochairmen,” he said.

“We have been conducting active talks on them for four years already.

I would not say just now that the negotiating process is active,
nevertheless, we have traversed quite a long road, and if after
the talks Aliyev succeeds in demonstrating will and rising above
his mania of Armeniaphobia, I think this is the most acceptable and
preferable option for us,” the Armenian presidential press service
quoted Sargsian to Interfax as saying.

Speaking of Azerbaijan’s warnings concerning the resumption of the war
and reports of Azerbaijan purchasing big quantities of arms Sargsian
said that the possession of armaments cannot be a guarantee of victory
or influence the correlation of forces in any way.

DAVIT JAMALYAN NEW ADVISER TO ARMENIAN DEFENSE MINISTER

YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Minister has a new adviser, the Ministry
reported.

Minister Seyran Ohanyan signed a decree appointing Davit Jamalyan an
adviser to the Defense Ministry of Armenia.

ZVARTNOTS AIRPORT POSTS PASSENGER TRAFFIC OF 873 074 IN JAN-JULY 2013

PanARMENIAN.Net – The number of passengers atZvartnots Airport in
January – July 2013 totaled 873 074 against 472 955 posted during
the same period in 2013.

According to the Central Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia,
424 159 people arrived in the country in January – July 2013 against
432 117 during the same period in 2012. 448 915 people left Armenia
during the reporting period against 472 955 in that of 2012.

6 229 tons of cargo was transported in January – July 2013 against
6 611 tons during the same period of 2012.

The total number of takeoffs and landings in the reporting period
reached 4 673 against 5 894 during 2012.

SURVEY: 70% OF ARMENIAN MEN STAND FOR WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION IN POLITICS

YEREVAN. – Armenian sociologist characterized adoption of gender
equality law as a senseless and dangerous move.

“If we become an associate member of the European Union, we will
automatically take on commitments supposed by the EU treaty which
fully protects the rights of sexual and ethnic minorities,” Aharon
Adibekyan told reporters.

He noted that the Armenians are conservative nation, and Armenian
language has no ‘gender’ term demanding equality in everything. The
opinion polls conducted in Armenia show that 70 percent of male and
76 percent of female respondents support women in politics.

“In case of equal opportunities 60% of men and 75% of women will vote
for a woman 32% of men and 40% of women expressed a desire that their
daughter were involved in politics,” Adibekyan added.

Back in May, the Armenian parliament passed a bill on equal rights
and equal opportunities for men and women. The third article of the
bill was the subject of intense public discussion, including debates
in social networks.

HARIRI PROVIDES THE MURDERERS WITH POLITICAL COVER

Future Party leader Saad Hariri commented on Hezbollah Secretary
General Hassan Nasrallah’s speech on Twitter, accusing the party of
defining who is a terrorist according to its own interests.

Hariri appears to be calling for a national conference in order
to designate what constitutes terrorism and to come to a consensus
on the mechanism to fight it. In effect, he’s telling those who are
being killed and those who are murdering them to wait a little longer
in order for everyone to come to a common understanding.

More dangerously, Hariri is sending a message to the Lebanese
authorities – and particularly those over which Future has influence,
like some of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) – not to accede
to calls for combating terrorism, for the matter requires national
consensus.

Not only does Hariri provide radical Islamist groups with political
cover, in addition to funding and arming them, he is now declaring that
they cannot be touched. This is after Future’s MPs have established
a record of incitement against the Lebanese army, going so far as to
openly defend Ahmad al-Assir’s gang in Saida after they killed over
a dozen soldiers.

Contrary to Hariri’s attempts to portray the jihadi terrorist attacks
as a legitimate part of the Syrian conflict and against Hezbollah’s
involvement it, such groups have been active in Lebanon for over
a decade now and are benefitting from the daily dose of sectarian
incitement that Hariri’s team feeds its supporters on a daily basis.

It’s clear that Hariri no longer has any connection with this
country.On the point of national consensus, we have to ask Hariri
the following:

– Based on what consensus was he able to rob property owners in
downtown Beirut to create a real estate monster called Solidere?

– What about the privatization of the mobile phone sector and the
embezzlement of millions in funds intended for national reconstruction
after the civil war?

– And who was it that accused Syria – and then Hezbollah – of
assassinating Rafik Hariri, then establishing an international
tribunal partly funded from the national treasury? Did he have national
consensus to do all this?

– Do Hariri’s current attempts to carry out Saudi wishes to form
a government without Hezbollah and get an extension for President
Michel Suleiman have the blessings of the Lebanese people?

It’s clear that Hariri no longer has any connection with this country.

His extended presence outside Lebanon has turned him into little
more than a subordinate, fulfilling the commands of the Kingdom of
Darkness and the West.

The Resistance, for its part, is obligated to defend its people –
particularly in those areas where the state is virtually absent. This
is not a matter of choice for them.

GENDER EQUALITY LAW IS TARGETED AT ELIMINATING CONCEPT OF FAMILY – PUBLICIST

YEREVAN. – The law on gender equality in Armenia has always been on
the agenda.

Unfortunately, the term ‘gender’ is gradually changing its true
meaning, chairman of “Reforma” NGO Karine Hakobyan said.

According to her, gender is the difference between woman and man in
social perception.

“The section 1, article 3 of the mentioned law gives the notion of
gender, but the second word ‘acquired’ gender should not be included,”
she thinks.

The publicist stressed that the Armenian society was faced with a
difficult choice: to choose life, consistency, or vice versa, because
it is a result of healthy relationship that a woman and a man create
a family.

“The laws have a great impact on the social culture. Therefore,
the target of gender equality law is to eliminate the concept of the
family which is a dangerous trend,” Hakobyan said during the Tuesday
press conference.

Back in May, the Armenian parliament passed a bill on equal rights
and equal opportunities for men and women. The third article of the
bill was the subject of intense public discussion, including debates
in social networks.

UNE JOURNALISTE RUSSE INTERDITE D’ENTRER EN AZERBAIDJAN EN RAISON DE SON NOM ARMENIEN

La journaliste russe Anna Sahakian, s’est vue refusee son entree a
Bakou en raison du nom de famille armenien de son mari. Anna n’a
jamais ete en Artsakh et n’est pas incluse dans la “liste noire”
du ministère azeri des Affaires etrangères.

Anna a laisse un message sur l’incident sur sa page Facebook : ”
voulez-vous savoir pourquoi j’ai honte ? J’ai explique a ces gens
que je suis russe par naissance. Je suis fier de mon nom, je l’ai
change une fois par amour, et si je dois changer une fois de plus,
je le ferais pour un très grand amour “. Elle a note qu’elle sait
maintenant ce les gens sentent quand ils sont opprimes en raison de
leur nationalite.

L’ARMENIE AURAIT ACQUIS DES BATTERIES DE MISSILES CHINOIS AR1A D’UNE PORTEE DE 130 KM

L’Arménie aurait acquis des systèmes de missiles chinois AR1A d’une
portée de 130 kilomètres. L’annonce a été faite sur radio ”
Azadoutioun ” (Liberté). Néanmoins aucune précision n’est donnée
sur la quantité de missiles AR1A achetés par l’armée arménienne a
la Chine. Ces batteries de missiles seraient équivalentes aux russes
СмеÑ~@Ñ~G améliorés et de portée plus longue. L’Azerbaïdjan a
d’ailleurs récemment acheté a la Russie, des batteries de missiles
СмеÑ~@Ñ~G.

Interrogé par la station de radio ” Azadoutioun ”, Ardzroun
Hovhannissian, le porte-parole du ministère arménien de la Défense,
n’a ni confirmé, ni démenti l’information de l’achat de ces missiles
chinois par l’Arménie. Après la récente livraison massive d’armes
par la Russie a l’Azerbaïdjan -pour une valeur d’un milliard de
dollars-, et après la visite jugée ” inquiétante ” de Vladimir
Poutine a Bakou la semaine dernière, Erévan chercherait-il a
diversifier ses sources d’armements et ses partenaires stratégiques ?

LE BAPTEME APOSTOLIQUE DE MISCHA AZNAVOUR

Pas peu fier de son fils aîne, Charles Aznavour, pour qui “la religion
fait partie de notre culture”, a accompagne, le 7 juillet dernier,
Mischa, qui avait decide de se faire baptiser selon le rite gregorien.

La ceremonie s’est deroulee a Etchmiadzine (Erevan, Armenie), en un
lieu specialement dedie aux baptemes : le Mekertatan.

Charles Aznavour s’est dit “ravi” que son fils aîne ait eu l’envie
d’etre baptise au Saint-siège des Armeniens.

Âge de 42 ans, Mischa Aznavourian, dit Mischa Lev *, avait de longue
date, choisi comme parrain de bapteme Levon Sayan, bras droit de
Charles. Il etait egalement accompagne de son frère cadet Nicolas et
de son epouse d’origine haïtienne. Selon l’interview d’Artak Herikian
(ArmeniaTV), Nicolas aurait abandonne ses recherches en biologie pour
se consacrer desormais a son père.

Ce poète, comme il se qualifie, a eu une enfance des plus normales.

“J’ai eu un père comme tous les pères. On est très proche dans la
famille, j’ai un frère qui travaille a Lausanne et une s~ur qui a ete
elevee comme moi. J’ai recu une bonne education de mes parents. J’ai
bien vire. Je n’ai pas passe ma vie a côtoyer des celebrites. On peut
avoir un père artisan ou auteur, ca reste un père. Moi, je n’ai vu
que le papa et non l’immense artiste. Mais c’est une chance d’avoir
un père aime”. Un fils et un père qui sont restes proches. “On se
voit tout le temps”.

Alors bien sûr, il s’est cherche : une tournee theâtrale, un film ou
la production d’artistes comme Florent Pagny ou Henri Salvador pour
son album, “Chambre avec vue”. Il a voyage beaucoup, s’est pose plus
longtemps parfois (a Moscou ou a Los Angeles).

“J’avais 12 ans, je me suis rendu compte qu’il y avait des parasites
autour de moi pour de mauvaises raisons mais j’y trouvais mon change.

J’ai fait des conneries mais j’avais de bonnes limites. Un jour,
j’ai decide de tout arreter, le telephone, les mauvais amis”.

Il y a 5 ans, un editeur russe lui commande un premier roman. “Moscou
blues” (sorti en 2008) raconte l’histoire d’un Parisien un peu paume
en Russie. Ce n’est pas un roman autobiographique mais ca y ressemble,
car a l’epoque il veut couper les ponts avec la jet-set et repartir
a zero, dans les rues de la ville rouge.

Ce premier roman s’est vendu a 25 000 exemplaires, a ete classe au top
des ventes de livres a Moscou, puis traduit. Pour Mischa Aznavour,
c’est une première reconnaissance ou presque car le livre sort sous
le nom de Mischa Lev. Un second roman, en Russe, sortira mais ne
sera pas traduit. En fevrier dernier, il sort un nouveau roman,
le premier en Francais, “Petit c~ur malade”. “Une autobiographie
romancee”, explique-t-il.

L’ecriture est devenue une evidence. “J’essaye d’ecrire tous les jours,
j’ai un blog. Ecrire, c’est comme un sport, au fur et a mesure, on
se muscle. J’ai commence un nouveau roman en francais. Je reste dans
mon monde imaginaire mais toujours avec cette poesie, une certaine
simplicite d’ecriture et fluidite. Je suis un adepte du premier
jet. Par contre, je vis mon roman, je me raconte l’histoire dans
ma tete”.

Ses prochains romans seront differents, il le dit. “J’ecrirai une
fable, peut etre”. Mischa Aznavour reste modeste, conscient du travail
qu’il reste a faire. “Je ne me considère pas comme un ecrivain,
je verrai après une dizaine de romans”. Il sait aussi qu’il n’ecrit
pas pour vivre. “J’aime ecrire, jeter des mots sur un mail, un blog,
une feuille blanche. On n’ecrit pas pour vivre, j’en ai conscience”.
