YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. , Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan told the reporters in Gyumri.

‘’Before that, the construction of the Kapan-Tatev ground road will be completed. If necessary, the trucks that want to travel in the direction of Kapan-Tatev will be accompanied by the police, as repairs are underway there, and without police escort problems may arise’’, ARMENPRESS reports the Deputy PM said, adding that now many drivers avoid that road, because the trucks are fully loaded and can face undesired situations as a result of a small stone on the road.

Medium-sized cars mainly drive on the Kapan-Tatev road. According to Papikyan, after asphalting, the permeability of the road will increase. The only problem, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, may arise in the part of Tatev called “Devil’s Bridge”. But the Government will also build an alternative in this direction, in the direction of Tat-Ltsen.

New roads are planned to be built in Syunik from Tatev to Bardzravan, Shurnukh, Chakaten and Vorotan villages.

Armenia PM clarifies spending of funds donated to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund during 44-day war

News.am, Armenia
Sept 15 2021

The funds of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund which were collected during the 44-day war have been used to meet necessary state needs. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in response to a question from secretary of the opposition “With Honor” faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Hayk Mamijanyan during today’s question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament.

The Prime Minister rushed to explain that the funds were provided for medical, social and other expenses that significantly grew at the time, not to purchase weapons.

“A little over AMD 100,000,000,000 was allocated for those purposes. Out of the AMD 100,000,000,000, AMD 52,000,000,000 was allocated from the Fund, and the remaining AMD 50,000,000,000 was allocated from the state budget. So, the funds were spent within the scope of the Fund’s goals,” Pashinyan clarified.

Pashinyan mentioned that during the session that the Fund’s Board of Trustees held during those days, representatives of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund listened to the government’s report on the expenses that he had personally delivered, and after listening to the report, the Board of Trustees issued a statement stating that the funds were spent without misuse and squander.

Germany wary of Mkhitaryan and Adamyan: Hansi Flick gives injury update ahead of Armenia clash

 September 5, 2021, 00:04

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Sargis Adamyan are quick and technically good players, we need a good compact defense,” Germany head coach Hansi Flick told a press conference ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Armenia, Bavarian Football Works reports.

Germany battling injuries and an illness heading into the match.

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller was sent home earlier in the week with an injury, but he is not alone. Robin Gosens suffered a knock in the match against Liechtenstein, and now Chelsea FC’s Kai Havertz has come down with flu-like symptoms.

Manuel Neuer will be back in the squad against Armenia on Sunday. “Manuel Neuer has resumed full training and is available tomorrow. Robin Gosens will miss the game, but is getting better. Kai Havertz has a slight flu and we have to wait if he can play tomorrow,” said Flick as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia.

“(Armenia) will try to press us in midfield, play a quick transition and bring their four attacking players into play. (Henrikh) Mkhitaryan and (Sargis) Adamyan are quick and technically good players, we know them from the Bundesliga. We need a good compact defense,” the manager said.

Germany Beat Lichtenstein 2-0 on September 2, while Armenia played a 0-0 draw against North Macedonia.

“Of course we cannot be happy with a 2-0 against Liechtenstein. But we’re at the beginning of a new path together, a new coach, new methods, so we need time. But the players showed good signs and willingness to implement the things we’ve talked about,” Flick stated.

Azerbaijani press: Azerbaijan rapidly building roads leading to Karabakh

By Trend

Following the success in the 44-day second Karabakh war [from late Sept. to early Nov.2020], and liberation of its lands from Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan is focusing on reconstruction and revival of these territories.

Important projects have already been launched in this direction. Naturally, first of all, the creation of road infrastructure is one of the main tasks.

During his each visit to the liberated territories, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has been laying down foundations of strategically important objects, including roads and airports. For example, during his visit to the liberated Fuzuli district on January 14, the president laid down the foundations of the Fuzuli-Shusha road on the 27-km section of the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway, as well as the airport in the Fuzuli district.

The new design of the Fuzuli-Shusha road includes the construction of bridges and tunnels. In areas with difficult terrain, it’s planned to build bridges and tunnels instead of bypass roads. The new road will be connected to Fuzuli airport, and from this road another new road will be laid to Isa spring [in Shusha city].

The Horadiz-Aghbend railway, the foundation of which was laid down by President Aliyev on February 14, should be also mentioned. This railway, with a total length of 100 kilometers, has a huge strategic importance, because this transport infrastructure will play a significant role in ensuring the movement of Azerbaijani citizens to the liberated lands, and, most important, will greatly contribute to creating a direct railway transport link between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Besides, the foundations of the Fuzuli-Hadrut, Zangilan-Horadiz, as well as Barda-Aghdam highways have already been laid down, and a new alternative highway with nearly 80-km length is being built without entering the city of Lachin.

On August 29, Azerbaijani president reviewed the final completion work for the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha ‘Victory Road’ [being built to commemorate path which was used by Azerbaijani troops to liberate Shusha city] and was informed that the construction of the ‘Victory Road’ is nearing completion. The length of the two- or three-lane road is 101 kilometers. Asphalt-concrete pavement has already been laid on the 92-km section of the road. Work on other sections is ongoing. Bridges and underpasses have been built along the road.

The Victory Road is being built taking into account the development plan of Karabakh. Starting from the Hajigabul-Minjivan-Zangazur corridor, the road extends to the city of Shusha, the main city of Karabakh.

The construction of four new road bridges along the new road has been completed in accordance with the project. The bridges are 45, 80 and 90 meters long and were built at 26.9, 37.2, 37.5 and 57.3-km sections of the road. Thus, easy access to this road will be provided.

Recently, the State Agency for Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has published a map of roads being built in Karabakh and East Zangazur [economic regions]. The map covers 10 major highways under construction with a total length of 665.4 km, and also includes highways to be built, but the length of which isn’t specified.

Reportedly, along with the construction of 101-km Victory Road, construction of 81.6-km Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha, 80.7-km Toghanaly-Kalbajar-Istisu, 72.3-km Kalbajar-Lachin, 123.8-km Ahmadbayli-Horadiz-Minjivan-Aghbend roads continues.

Besides, 22-km Talish-Tapgaragoyunlu-Gashalty, 83-km Khudafarin-Gubadly-Lachin, 43-km Shukurbayli-Jabrayil-Hadrut, 13-km Fuzuli-Hadrut and 45-km Barda-Aghdam highways are under construction.

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. Armenia manager Joaquín Caparrós says they were unable to display their capabilities in the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Germany which ended in a major 6:0 loss for the Armenians.

“The German team had a very big advantage,” Caparrós said at a post-match press conference. “We failed to display our capabilities. We didn’t play with the respective pace, we didn’t do enough pressing. For example, we didn’t make any fouls in the first half. Everything happens like this when you play against such quality teams who are so quick and have such high technique.”
