Collectif VAN : un acteur référent dans la lutte contre le négationnisme

Depuis 2004, le Pôle Évènementiel du Collectif VAN a mis en `uvre ou
participé à plus de 80 actions publiques à destination de la société
civile, dont celles menées chaque année en avril sur le Parvis de
Notre-Dame de Paris.
Notre `Journée de Sensibilisation aux génocides et à leur négation`,
qui s’est tenue le dimanche 22 avril 2012, a obtenu le soutien de 24
associations des Droits de l’Homme, françaises et internationales et
de trois artistes de talent. En janvier 2012, le Collectif VAN a été,
pour la seconde année consécutive, partenaire des Entretiens de l’ESG
organisés à Paris par Frédéric Encel : ils avaient pour thème cette
année « Le négationnisme d’Etat ».
Le Collectif VAN y a tenu un stand d’information, comme cela a
également été le cas lors de la Semaine de la mémoire organisée par la
ville d’Ivry-sur-Seine et l’Association pour la mémoire des enfants
juifs déportés d’Ivry.
Le Collectif VAN a poursuivi en 2012 sa participation aux actions de
ses partenaires, en particulier celles de l’UEJF [Union des Etudiants
Juifs de France], de SOS Racisme, de la Licra, du Collectif Urgence
Darfour et de Ibuka France.

Le Collectif VAN est régulièrement sollicité par les militants des
droits de l’homme turcs et kurdes lorsqu’ils font face à la répression
d’Ankara du fait de leurs prises de positions courageuses en faveur de
la reconnaissance du génocide arménien et des droits des minorités. A
l’occasion de l’incarcération de l’éditeur turc Ragip Zarakolu, le
Collectif VAN a alerté les médias français, les pouvoirs publics et
ses partenaires. Notre association a ainsi participé à la pression
internationale qui a conduit à la remise en liberté conditionnelle en
Turquie, de l’éminent défenseur des droits de l’homme.

Depuis 2004, le Pôle Média du Collectif VAN diffuse gratuitement
5j/semaine par mail et sur le site (très bien
référencé sur Google Actualités) une revue de presse [Veille-Média]
nationale et internationale, avec des articles et de nombreuses
traductions sur les génocides et leur négation (Shoah, génocide des
Arméniens, des Tutsi, des Darfouris), les droits de l’homme, Chypre,
l’entrée de la Turquie dans l’U.E., les minorités en Turquie
(Arméniens, Kurdes, Grecs, Juifs, Assyro-Chaldéens-Syriaques, etc.).
Dans le cadre de ce Pôle Média, le Collectif VAN signale tous les
faits négationnistes qu’il recense (TV, radio, presse écrite,
internet, édition) en alimentant un «Observatoire du négationnisme»
utilisé par diverses instances arméniennes pour sensibiliser les
médias et les cercles politiques.

En 2011 et 2012, le Collectif VAN a été particulièrement actif dans sa
mission d’information des parlementaires et des autorités françaises,
lors des débats autour du texte législatif pénalisant la négation des
génocides reconnus par la loi. Devenu un acteur référent pour les
médias qui le contactent régulièrement, le Collectif VAN a été, à
cette occasion, invité sur les plateaux télévisés (LCP et BFM Business
TV) et a également publié, sur des médias externes, des articles en
réponse à MM. Badinter et Nora.

Pour animer son site internet, le Collectif VAN a choisi depuis 2006,
de fournir un travail rémunéré à de jeunes webmasters francophones
d’Arménie, basées à Erevan. Les dons que reçoit le Collectif VAN
contribuent ainsi à offrir un emploi stable à de jeunes Arméniennes
formées aux thématiques qui nous concernent.

Tout ceci ne pourrait exister sans l’aide de nos membres, de nos
généreux sympathisants et de la subvention annuelle de la Ville
d’Issy-les-Moulineaux.

The Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora should set unity at the meeting
to be held on 12 November in France.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani-Belgian Friendship Group Ayhan Demirchi
has told the statement to Gun.Az while commenting on the action of our
diaspora held in Paris reading the visit of Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan to France.

“We should exert all our efforts and hold a grandiose action. The even
should involve masses. The Azerbaijani-Turkish diaspora should
actively join the action in unity and equality.
The whole world must see what crimes Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
has committed, and we should give a harsh response to the Armenian
diaspora,” Demirchi said.

Le BHK propose de mettre en place une république parlementaire

Le Parti Arménie prospère (BHK) de Gagik Tsarukian a appelé mardi 6
novembre 2012 à une vaste réforme constitutionnelle qui réduirait les
pouvoirs présidentiels et transformerait le pays en une république
parlementaire.

Naira Zohrabian, responsable du BHK, a déclaré que le parti
s’entretiendra avec d’autres forces politiques majeures dans les
prochains jours « pour voir s’il y a une possibilité de ralliement
autour de cette idée ».

« La transition vers un régime parlementaire suppose que le président
élu en 2013 prendrait ses fonctions pour un maximum de quatre ans et,
de concert avec d’autres forces politiques, adopterait des amendements
constitutionnels correspondants aux prochaines élections législatives
en 2017 », a déclaré Zohrabian. La Constitution arménienne établit le
mandat présidentiel en fonction à cinq ans.

« Nous croyons que cette approche pourrait devenir une base
idéologique sérieuse pour la consolidation et la coopération des
différentes forces politiques à l’élection présidentielle », a ajouté
Zohrabian. Elle n’a pas précisé si l’offre est principalement adressée
au président Serge Sarkissian ou à l’opposition arménienne.

L’idée d’un passage à une république parlementaire a longtemps été
préconisée par la plupart des partis de l’opposition arménienne. Mais
il a été rejeté jusqu’à présent par le Président Serge Sarkissian et
son parti républicain d’Arménie (HHK).

Galust Sahakian, un président adjoint du HHK, a déclaré mercredi 7
novembre que le parti au pouvoir envisage les négociations s’il reçoit
une offre formelle du BHK. « Nous sommes prêts à discuter de toute
question », a déclaré Sahakian (Azatutyun.am). « Discuter de quelque
chose ne signifie pas l’accepter. » Levon Zurabian, le leader
parlementaire du Congrès national arménien (HAK),a déclaré que
l’alliance de l’opposition est prête à discuter de la proposition, si
elle est abordée par le parti de Tsarukian.

Une autre force d’opposition, la Fédération Révolutionnaire Arménienne
(FRA), a également déclaré qu’elle était prête à négocier avec le BHK.

N. Zohrabian n’a pas précisé si le BHK a finalement décidé de soutenir
la candidature de Serge Sarkissian pour les prochaines élections.

Movsisyan likely to miss Spartak clash

FC Krasnodar’s Armenian-American striker Yura Movsisyan is set to miss
his team’s Russian Premier League clash with Spartak on Sunday due to
injury, he told R-Sport on Friday.

Movsisyan is the Russian top flight’s joint top scorer with nine
goals, but missed Krasnodar’s 2-0 win over Dynamo Moscow on Sunday
with a foot injury.

‘My chances are not looking too good. I don’t think I’m going to be
playing in the game,’ he said, adding that he was confident of a swift
recovery.

‘It’s not a big injury. I’m just not 100 percent, that’s why I’m not playing.’

Fellow attacking players such as Moussa Konate and Wanderson could
step up in his absence, Movsisyan said.

‘We do have players who can come in and do the job. They have shown
they can do it,’ he said.

Movsisyan started his career in the United States with the Kansas City
Wizards and Real Salt Lake, and joined Krasnodar last year following a
spell in the Danish league.

He plays international football for Armenia and has scored five
international goals in 18 games.

Baku waiting for suitable moment to resume war with Nagorno-Karabakh –
Armenian president

YEREVAN. Nov 9

Yerevan will continue negotiations aimed at finding a peaceful
solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but any possible attack by
Azerbaijan on Armenia or self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh will meet a
fierce response, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in an
interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Sargsyan said that, regrettably, he believes that Azerbaijan is
waiting for a suitable moment to restart this war.

The Armenian president said he is certain that such a mistake will
deliver a blow to the security of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh
and Armenia, but the greatest damage will be caused to the population
of Azerbaijan.

The Armenian government will continue to participate in talks intended
to secure a peaceful solution to the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh,
Sargsyan said.

Armenia will carry out a strike against Azerbaijan only if this
country attacks Nagorno-Karabakh or Armenia, he said.

Yerevan’s response will be fierce because it will not be able to stay
away if Nagorno-Karabakh finds itself in danger, he said.

POSSIBLE IMPACTS OF POTI PORT STRIKE

It is more than 10 days since the Poti port workers first went on
strike. Up to November 6th 70% of Poti port workers were on strike
but now all the workers have walked off their jobs. This has created
considerable concern for Georgia’s neighbors Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Since neither country has a real sea coast they are heavily reliant
on Georgia’s Black Sea ports for access to the open seas. Armenian
companies are doing their best to transport about 200 containers on to
Batumi’s port for transshipment overseas and Azeri companies are doing
the same. If the strike continues much longer companies who use Poti
will take a considerable financial loss as Batumi’s port is simply
not big enough to handle the amount of containers needed. Meanwhile
Poti’s port authorities are trying to try to fix the situation. The
strikers demand increased salaries and that port workers who were
fired should be rehired.

SERZH SARGSYAN’S SECOND REACTION

Eduard Sharmazanov’s nervous statement that it is known where the idea
of the Prosperous Armenia Party on the parliamentary state can hardly
be considered as the official response of the RPA. Serzh Sargsyan
has not expressed an opinion on this idea and what his opinion
would have been if it had been worked out somewhere else or in his
administration. This is an important question because transformation
to a parliamentary state is a serious step, even though it is perceived
as an ad-hoc solution.

It is important to explain where this idea was generated, who advised
the RPA to put forth this idea, whether it is an internal initiative
or one of the great powers has decided to continue the project that
was tried out in Georgia.

Sharmazanov has uttered no word on the essence of the idea, he only
announced that it comes from those who want to come to government.

Does this mean that Serzh Sargsyan is against the parliamentary state
or is he considering an “heir”? Or is Sharmazanov angry because the
PAP went further ahead of Serzh Sargsyan and announced what Serzh
Sargsyan was supposed to state?

In any case, Sharmazanov’s statement worked against Serzh Sargsyan who
has actually confessed that he may have a strong opponent if everyone
tears off their masks and comes together around Robert Kocharyan. And
the only option of neutralizing this idea is his approval and his
nomination as the last president.

If he does this, all the political forces may join to support Vartan
Oskanian who has already supported the idea of a parliamentary state.

Although Galust Sahakyan states that four parties together cannot
pose any threat to the RPA, obviously as a presidential candidate
Vartan Oskanian may be a strong opponent to Serzh Sargsyan. Moreover,
Robert Kocharyan may take off his mask at the last moment.

In this case the election return will be difficult to predict. All the
more so, there is interest in the establishment of parliamentary rule
outside Armenia as well. In this case, as Raffi Hovannisian stated,
snap elections will be a must because the current parliament is the
head and heart of the criminal oligarchy.

Serzh Sargsyan’s first reaction was nervous but perhaps his second
reaction will be reserved and even approving. Serzh Sargsyan will
probably say that a parliamentary state is more acceptable for
Armenia. The issue is the term. If he is preparing an heir, he may
state that it is expedient to put off transition by another term.

2ND ARMENIAN LANGUAGE COURSE LAUNCHED IN TURKEY’S DIYARBAKIR

PanARMENIAN.Net – The second installment of an Armenian language
course offered in Diyarbakir (Dikranagerd) was launched on Nov 6,
2012, the Armenian Weekly reports.

Nearly 30 students who received certificates for completing the first
course enrolled in the second one to improve their language skills.

Fifteen new students have also signed up.

The course is taught by Kevork Fikri CalıÅ~_, who said that while
last year the course focused on grammar and sentence structure,
this year, the emphasis will be on conversational Armenian.

The first installment was offered from March 1 to May 1, 2011.

The courses are possible through the joint efforts of the Diyarbakir
Sur Municipality, Kurdi-Der, and the Armenian Foundation. They are
being held at Kurdi-Der’s building.

BELGIAN ARMENIANS APPLY TO KING ALBERT II OF BELGIUM – PHOTO

The Armenian community of Belgian City of Gent organized an event
to protect Vardan Sargsyan and his family, Armenian News-NEWS.am was
informed by the Belgian Armenian community member. According to our
source, the authorities of Belgium decided to deport Vardan Sargsyan,
his wife and two underage children.

“Vardan lives in Gent for about 13 years. He was started a family
here and has two kids. He has a job and has never had any problems
with police. For many times he submitted applications to obtain a
legal residence permit, however, for unknown reasons, his applications
have always been rejected. Presently he and his family were moved to
the refugee camp in order to be deported,” the source told Armenian
News-NEWS.am over the phone.

According to the Armenian community of Gent, the representatives of
EAK Armenian benevolent society of Belgium, sent a letter to the
King Albert II of Belgium in this regard. In addition, regarding
Sargsyan’s family EAK applied to the Gent city mayor, who promised
to help as much as possible.

The Armenian community of Gent city organized a rally in front of
the city hall to protect Vardan Sargsyan and his family. The rally
enjoyed the attention of local media.

ANOTHER MISINFORMATION CONCERNING “HELP YOUR BROTHER” AID PLANE

Turkish media wrote another misinformtaiot, according to which they
have forced Armenian plane to descend in Erzurum’s airport.

The news was spread in our media also. Member of “Help your brother”
initiative group Lilit Galstyan informed that the descend has been
preliminary agreed with the turkish side. The plane was not descended
by force, it was planned.

“Our plane had to descend in Erzurum’s airport, according to
preliminary agreement we had, just like the previous time. Our main
aim is to send that aid to people in need who are unger danger in
Syria”, said she.
