PSYCHOLOGIST SAYS FAIRYTALES, INFORMATION FLOW AND TOYS HAVE A GREAT INFLUENCE ON CHILDREN

YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: Cartoons, fairytales, information flow
and toys have a great influence on children. Candidate of Psychological
Sciences, Deputy Dean of the Sociology Faculty of the Yerevan State
University Nara Sahakyan told Armenpress that the innocent toys
and games which existed 10 years ago cannot be compared with the
contemporary ones. According to her, ordinary dolls are small women
today, and children want them to be like children.

Children learn through playing. “They develop the further behavior
of their whole life, trying to play the roles of parents, doctors
and teachers. This is the training, after which children must come
forward in mature life, and the regular playing develops sense of
responsibility”, the psychologist said.

According to her, fairytales play a great role both in diagnostic
and therapeutic respect. “Fairytales must be kind first of all. Very
often even the headings of fairytales distort children’s perception,
for example, the fairytale of “The Girl without Arms”, or “Henzel
and Gretel”, where it is told how the parent kicks off the children
from home. It can shape a model of a parent for children. In suchlike
stress evoking fairytales parents should let children to compose the
continuation of the fairytale by their own,” N. Sahakyan said.
