The issue of ratification of the strategic cooperation framework agreement on TRIPP between Armenia and the United States of America of the “Trump Path for International Peace and Prosperity” project is included in the agenda of the July 16 session of the government.
With a non-reportable draft, he proposes to approve the draft law on ratifying the agreement.
According to the draft decision of the government, it is planned to apply to the Constitutional Court to find out the compliance of the obligations stipulated in the agreement with the Constitution of the country. If the Constitutional Court recognizes the obligations as conforming to the Constitution, then the legislative initiative of the government will be transferred to the National Assembly in the prescribed manner.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan will assume the powers of the government representative in the Constitutional Court.
According to the justification of the project, the adoption of this law will allow to ensure the necessary procedures for the entry into force of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between Armenia and the USA on TRIPP.
