June: 22, 2026
Dear compatriots,
in 2026 The June 7 parliamentary elections, in our opinion, were held under widespread lawlessness, repression, the spread of an atmosphere of fear, public threats against the opposition, arrests and prosecutions.
Many opposition figures were subjected to illegal persecution. Two weeks before the voting, an illegal criminal case was initiated against Andranik Tevanyan, the chairman of the “Mother Armenia” party, number two on the PAP pre-election list, in order to disrupt the normal course of the pre-election campaign and isolate him.
This unacceptable practice by the authorities continues even today.
It is obvious that with such repressive measures, the authorities cannot extend their years of rule. Pursuing patriotic figures and dissidents, they weaken the country’s resistance and endanger security. In addition, it is not possible to build a democratic state, as promised, with this way of working.
It seems that the current government is trying to create a new dictatorship and create a widespread atmosphere of fear. on the example of Stalinist repressions.
Many representatives of the Armenian intelligentsia are very worried about the events taking place in the country and have no moral right to be silent and indifferent at this fateful moment. On the one hand, the imperative to stop the loss of Armenian statehood, and on the other, the responsibility towards the future, have put us in front of the obligation to raise our voice.
We, the undersigned, express our unconditional support to Andranik Tevanyan, who was imprisoned in a fabricated case, and to all political prisoners who are honestly engaged in the struggle for the existence of the state.
Freedom to Andranik Tevanyan.
Freedom to all political prisoners.
