May 272026

According to the statement of the US State Department, the United States and Armenia have previously signed the framework agreement “Trump’s Path for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP). In addition, the parties signed a strategic partnership charter, as well as a memorandum of understanding in the field of critical minerals.

“The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met in Yerevan and announced the developments contributing to the strengthening of US-Armenia relations.”

First of all, the parties announced the preliminary signing of the framework bilateral agreement of the TRIPP program. This is a key step toward a brighter future, the foundation of which was laid by the historic commitments made at the White House on August 8, 2025. Thus, the United States and Armenia took another step closer to creating a seamless, multi-transport transit connection in the region, with full respect for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The document also presents the main activities of the joint venture “TRIPP Development Company” (TDC). This company was founded by the United States and Armenia with the goal of promoting trade, transportation, and economic progress, as well as modernizing international, interstate, and domestic transportation links. In addition, Washington and Yerevan closely cooperate in the framework of engineering-geodesic studies of the TRIPP project. The United States reaffirms its commitment to promoting the expansion of global trade and the establishment of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

In addition, the Secretary of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the Charter of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America, as well as the framework agreement between the United States and Armenia on the provision of supplies in the field of extraction and processing of critical minerals and rare metals. With these steps, the United States and Armenia show their joint commitment to expanding bilateral relations and continue to implement the promises that were confirmed in the memorandum of understanding signed by President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan on August 8,” the State Department press release said.
