ARMENIAN CEC SPENDS HUGE AMOUNT ON DISAPPEARING INK – NEWSPAPER

YEREVAN. – The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armeniaspent
a considerable amount last year to acquire disappearing ink for the
national elections, Zhoghovurd daily reports.
“Zhoghovurd learned that 48,676,000 drams [approx. $117,247] were
spent for the preparation of the stamps, and 13.9 million drams
[approx. $33,480], to acquire them and the disappearing ink [to be
stamped on the passports of the voters that have cast their ballots]
for the National Assembly elections. The CEC also spent 14.8 million
drams [approx. $35,650] to obtain disappearing ink for the presidential
elections.
“And despite the amount that was spent, the result was the same every
time. The ink disappeared much earlier than expected. As a result,
this gave the [political] opposition grounds to claim that in this
way the authorities enabled multiple voting for the election riggers,”
Zhoghovurd writes.
