Commission for Human Rights and Interethnic Relations of Moldovan
Parliament has held a meeting on Parliamentary Advocate (Ombudsman)
Aurelia Grigoriu. APA reports that Grigoriu didn”t attend the meeting.

Parliamentary Advocate, Director of the Center for Human Rights
Anatoly Munteanu said Grigoriu didn”t attend the meeting due to
health problems: “We have not received a reasonable explanation in
this regard. I regard this as a personal attitude.”

The Commission discussed recalling of Parliamentary Advocate,
but didn”t make any decision. Mentioning the last meeting of
the parliament”s spring-summer session on July 12, members of the
Commission doubted whether the parliament will have time to consider
this issue. Parliamentarians emphasized that Grigoriu”s mandate would
end this fall.

Addressing the international conference at Armenian Parliament,
Moldovan Aurelia Grigoriu said that Armenia”s aggression against
Azerbaijan continues for more than 25 years and Armenia has occupied
20 percent of Azerbaijan”s territories.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
