`Taron, When Will It Be?’ Sargsyan asks upon Complaints of Residents

`Taron, When Will It Be?’ the President of the Republic of Armenia
Said to the Mayor After Listening to the Complaints of the Byuzand
Street Residents

September 27, 2012 23:14

Today after the meeting of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA)
executive body, President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan
accompanied by National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and Mayor of
Yerevan Taron Margaryan approached the residents of the unfinished
building on Byuzand Street.

They complained that they had been renting apartments for 9 years and
hadn’t received any compensation. `Solve our problem!’ the residents
applied to the President of the Republic of Armenia and handed him
their complaints in writing.

`Taron, when will it be?’ Mr. Sargsyan asked the mayor, then addressed
the residents, `Do they pay your rents?’ After hearing the negative
answer of the residents, Mr. Sargsyan promised that the issue would be
solved very soon.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
