YEREVAN. – The American-Armenians’ issues will get sharper during the
Obama-Romney campaign, political analyst Richard Giragosian told
Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Disappointment with the US incumbent President Barack Obama who failed
to realize his election promise and utter the word `Genocide’ instead
of `Mets Yeghern’ in his annual April 24 speech, must not stop
inserting pressure on Turkey. On the contrary, it will serve for the
normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, said Giragosian who heads
Yerevan-based Regional Studies Center think tank.
The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) invited the
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to address
American-Armenian voters, Obama was also invited.
As for Romney who was the governor of Massachusetts, Armenians have
many expectations from him as well.
`The Armenian community of Massachusetts will increase pressure on
candidates during the elections,’ Giragosian added.
