DRAFT LAW ON PROPORTIONAL VOTING SYSTEM REJECTED

Today the voting started after yesterday~Rs discussion on the draft
law on shift over to an absolute proportional voting system. 97 MPs
were registered and the initiative of ARF-D and Heritage Party on
the shift over was put to vote in the first place.
Larisa Alaverdyan delivered a speech before the voting urging to vote
for the initiative. But it became known after the voting that only 30
people voted for the initiative, 56 voted against, with 4 abstentions.
ARF-D and Heritage Party have voted for. Only 4 MPs from PAP have
voted against.
There have also been abstentions from PAP and PAP members who didn~Rt
participate in the voting at all.
