YEREVAN MAYOR MEETS WITH ILE-DE-FRANCE REGION’S DELEGATION

Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan held a meeting with a delegation of
Ile-de-France region of France led by Vice-President of the region
Philippe Kaltenbach.

Mayor Karapetyan pointed out high-level Armenian-French friendly
relations, which is supposed to facilitate intensification of bilateral
economic ties and business contracts.

“I am sure that our relations and meetings will give impetus to our
practical ties, and we will find areas of cooperation in implementing
large-scale investment programs. I am sure that our cooperation will be
of long duration if it is mutually beneficial,” the Yerevan mayor said.

In his turn, Mr. Philippe Kaltenbach thanked the Yerevan mayor for a
warm reception and informed him of the areas the French side is ready
to assist Armenia in. Specifically, since Yerevan has been declared
World Book Capital 2012, the French side is willing to assist Armenia
in implementing various educational and cultural programs as well
as in personnel retraining. The delegation attaches importance to
Ile-de-France region’s involvement in the programs implemented in
Yerevan and expects the region to play its role in Armenian-French
cooperation. He expressed hope for development of cooperation programs
with Yerevan.
