SCR: first electric plan Yerevan-Sevan to leave on July 7

YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. The first electric train Yerevan-Sevan will
leave on July 7 from reconstructed Yerevan station `Almast’, Deputy
Director of Infrastructure Service of `South-Caucasian Railways’ (SCR)
Ashot Hunusyan informs.

`Since 2006 reconstruction works were conducted in this railway
section. By the decision of SCR management the road has been
reconstructed and the platform was built. The train Yerevan-Sevan will
work every day. On weekends Yerevan-Sevan-Shorzha route will work’, he
said.

Operation of the station `Almast’ will allow people from Yerevan to go
to Sevan by available prices.
The fare of the route Yerevan-Sevan varies between 500-700 drams.

CJSC `South-Caucasian Railway’ is a 100% subsidiary of OJSC `Russian
Railways’ implementing concession management of CJSC `Armenian
Railways’ according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13,
2008. Term of the concession is 30 years with the right of extension
for another 10 years. -0-
