Armenia to open free economic zones

YEREVAN. – Armenia will have three free economic zones in accordance
with the law on free economic zones in the near future, Armenian
Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan told the journalists.

The first free economic zone will be in the area of Zvartnots airport.
It will carry agro-economical direction. Corporation America, the
owner of which is Eduardo Ernekyan, carries out the works.

The second free economic zone will be created on the basis of Mars
factory. Final stage of negotiations is run with Sytronics Company.

The third free economic zone will be on high technologies.

`We should be careful while creating free economic zones in order not
to break the existing tax and customs field. In case of success, we
will go on spreading the field,’ the minister stated.
