SOUTH CAUCASUS RAILWAYS TO OPERATE TRAIN BETWEEN YEREVAN AND SHORZHA ON LAKE SEVAN

YEREVAN, June 22. / ARKA /. The Russian-run South Caucasus Railways
company, operating Armenia’s railroads, said on July 2 an electrical
train will start running between Yerevan and Shorzha, a small village
on the northern shore of Lake Sevan. It said the seasonal commuter
train will travel to Tsovagyukh station on weekdays (except Wednesday)
and to Shorzha on Saturdays and Sundays.

The train from Yerevan will depart from the Kanaker station at
08:30 morning arriving in Tsovagyuh at 10:46. It will travel back
to Yerevan from Tsovagyukh at 17:55, arriving at Kanaker station at
20:27. The train to Shorzha will leave on Saturdays and Sundays at
6:00, arriving at Shorzha at 11:40 and will travel back at 17:00,
arriving at Kanaker station at 20:27. The train to Shorzha runs on
summer to take tourists to Lake Sevan.

The South Caucasus Railways is run by Russian Railways. The
concessional agreement was concluded in 2008 for 30 years, with a
right of extension for another 20 years after the first 20 years of
operation.
