Turkey’s first observation satellite “RASAT” has been sent to Russia
for its launch into space.
“RASAT” was designed and manufactured in Turkey by the space division
of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey
(TUBITAK). Financial support for the satellite came from the State
Planning Organization (DPT) of Turkey.
“RASAT” will be launched to space from Russia in July.
Satellite photos from “RASAT” will be utilized in city planning,
forestry, agriculture and disaster management.
