During “The art of Khachkars – Armenian cross-stones” exhibition,
held June 15 at UNSECO Paris Office, it was found out that the notes
on the origin of the Armenian khachkars are not available.
Armenpress reports citing the French “Nouvelle D’Armenie” periodical
that only the date was written under the photos. The reason is that
some of the khachkars are located in the territory of not only Armenia,
but also neighbor countries – Turkey and Azerbaijan.
RA Ambassador to France Vigen Chitechyan and RA Deputy Culture
Minister Arev Samuelyan were present at the event and expressed their
dissatisfaction about that.
