Developing Teacher Trainers

British Council is pleased to announce a call for applications for a Trainer
Training Summer School in Uludag, Turkey.

40 participants from a wide range of countries potentially including Turkey,
Russia, Israel, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Albania, BiH,
Macedonia, Armenia, Georgia, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Uzbekistan will be
attending the course in Turkey from Sunday 17th- Tuesday 26th July.

A trainer training intensive summer school – 36 hours input – on developing
core training skills (setting up workshops; engaging trainees, planning and
delivering sessions, monitoring and evaluating progress, observation and
feedback).

The participants will be expected to cascade training in their home country
from September 2011 and maintain a regional network with other trainers.

Who’s it for?

The ideal applicant:

* is fairly new to the profession e.g. 5-10 years teaching experience
* has a formal or informal teacher training role in their current
workplace
* has had no, or limited, prior trainer training input
* aspires to working in more of a teacher training capacity in the
future
* has no previous summer school/international training experience
* is capable of, and committed to, developing and sustaining an
international network of teacher training colleagues
* is active member of English Teachers Association of Georgia

Successful participants will have to deliver training on their return to
their working context and there should be opportunity for British Council
trainers to observe them deliver teacher training. In their application they
need to outline how this could happen.
