LOS ANGELES – Detectives are trying to determine if the recent killing
of a woman in Hollywood is connected to the slaying of her husband
and 9-year-old daughter more than a year ago.
Police Detective Dan Myers said Monday there appears to be a link
between Friday’s shooting of 38-year-old Karine Hakobyan and the
slaying of her family members on Dec. 11, 2008.
Myers says investigators are working on a theory that was developed
in the earlier homicides. He did not provide details.
Hakobyan, a nursing assistant at Children’s Hospital, was found behind
the wheel of her car with a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
Her husband, 43-year-old Khachik Safaryan, and their daughter Lusine
were shot to death in their home.
